October 28, 2004: More on The Inside
We've just confirmed that Jane is the Co-Executive Producer of The Inside, the new crime drama being developed by Tim Minear for 20th Century Fox Television.

October 28, 2004: Jane says "Thank you!"
Jane says thank you to the fans who sent her the teddy bear in the cape. "There was no return address, but he's adorable and he seemed to be from Buffy-Spike 'shippers."

October 27, 2004: Jane's Pilot-in-Progress
In addition to working on the Fox show The Inside, Jane continues to work on her own pilot, currently titled Utopia. According to Jane, "Utopia is an hour drama, with elements of the teen-soap variety, but also with a hint of delicious menace, since it's set in a small midwestern town where Things Aren't Right." The first draft will be completed in mid-November, when it will then be subjected to the long arduous path of all pilot scripts that will hopefully culminate in a network pickup for the fall.

October 27, 2004: Jane joins The Inside
Jane Espenson is working with Tim Minear again, this time on the The Inside, a crime drama created by Minear. Details are under lock and key for the moment, but we should have more to post soon. Jane and Minear previously worked together on Angel in 1999 and 2000.

October 27, 2004: New interview
Mike Jozic interviews Jane for his website, Meanwhile..., covering everything from the end of Buffy, to her comic book work, to her development deal at FOX.

September 17, 2004: Jane still hard at work
Despite the soon to be ending production of Tru Calling, Jane Espenson is still hard at work developing her own project. While the details are still under wraps, it looks like we'll have a Jane-penned pilot to look forward to this year.

September 16, 2004: Tru Calling removed from fall schedule
Fox Television has postponed the season premiere of the Thursday night show, Tru Calling. Production is still ongoing for the sixth episode, but it is unlikely to continue thereafter. Whether the six completed episodes will be aired at a later date, or saved for a dvd release, has yet to be announced.

August 12, 2004: Jane's first Tru Calling episode begins filming
"In the Dark," Jane Espenson's first Tru Calling episode, starts filming today in Vancouver. It will be the third episode of the upcoming second season of the Fox television drama, starring Eliza Dushku and Jason Priestley, and is expected to air on November 18, 2004.

May 27, 2004: Jane signs two year deal with Fox
Jane Espenson has signed a two year development deal with 20th Century Fox Studios. In addition to working on developing her own projects for Fox, she'll spend the new 2004-05 television season as Co-Executive Producer for Fox Television's Tru Calling, which stars Eliza Dushku and Jason Priestley, and airs Thursday nights at 8pm.

March 23, 2004: Women, Gender, and Television Regional Conference
Jane will be the keynote speaker at Women, Gender, and Television Regional Conference, being held at The College of William & Mary April 16-17, 2004. She will be speaking on "Buffy Versus the Gilmore Girls" at 6pm on the 16th at Tucker Hall Theater. For more information, please visit their website.

January 8, 2004: Jane's next Gilmore Girls episode
Jane has just started writing the currently untitled episode 16 of this season's Gilmore Girls. The episode will feature appearances by Danny Strong (as Yale News editor "Doyle") and Marion Ross (as the senior Lorelai Gilmore).
